On February 17, 2020, On The Move Custom Food Trucks, a division of On The Move, Inc., completed a project with the historic Hotel Emma in San Antonio, Texas. On The Move took a 1967 truck that the Pearl Brewery used to transport beer and refurbished it into a food truck that will serve drinks and small bites at Hotel Emma’s pool. The truck was raised by a crane and placed on the third floor on Monday, but it won’t begin service until mid-March 2020.

KSAT News reported on the delivery with several dozen onlookers as the truck was successfully raised to the third floor. “The sight of a truck being lifted overhead seemed to give everyone in the crowd a bit of a lift to their day,” reported KSAT on Monday.

Bill Petrella, CEO of the Hotel Emma, posted an update on his LinkedIn profile on Monday. “Hotel Emma converted a 1967 Pearl Brewery truck into a food truck,” he wrote to his followers, “which will now be our permanent rooftop pool bar.” The post was met with hundreds of positive comments from people that now have one more reason to visit the historic and beautiful hotel.

On The Move is extremely proud to have completed such a unique custom build for such an iconic landmark in our home city of San Antonio. We are beyond excited for the grand reveal in March, which will no doubt be the beginning of many years in service.
